Logic Pro Help

Thanks so much for these but I have a small issue. Most of the presets seem to be left biased. Almost 80% of the reverb signal is in the left when I use the presets you have supplied. However, when I use the 24bit ones from here: http://www.samplicity.com/bricasti-m7-impulse-responses/ I don't have this problem.

I open SD, click on load IR & init and choose one of the IR WAVs (e.g. Vocal Plate M -> S.wav) file and it works flawlessly, so here's my question, what is the advantage of using the ones that have been converted for Space Designer? Am I missing something?

They are a bit weird. The L and R files are actually both stereo files, the L being left heavy and the R being right heavy. I actually use neither, I use the M-S ones, followed by a direction mixer set to decode M-S. And all this on an aux, with NO dry signal mixed in.

Thanks for the reply. I'm doing the exact same thing right now and all is good. These verbs sound amazing. I'm just wondering what the issue is with the quad versions. Why are they all left biased?

What's the difference in terms of sound between using the M-to-S file with Direction Mixer as M-S decoder w.r.t. to use
the corresponding quad (True Stereo) file ? Are they targeting different use cases ?

Some major confusion going on here. The M-S labelling of these IRs stands for Mono->Stereo, not Mid/Side. There is no M/S information to decode. They are designed to be used in a convolution reverb set to output a stereo signal from a summed mono input.

Very important clarification. So may I conclude the folliwing ?
- if the sound source is mono (e.g. kick drum bass, ...), then I should use the M-S IRs
- if the sound source is already stereo, then I should use the quad IRs

I believe that is the applicable gist of what JJ is explaining

I believe the problem with left side bias is unique to those who load SD in a mono-stereo instance on a mono channel, rather than on an aux channel (bus/send), which in the latter case produces the desired results. Another way to get around this is to force stereo on a channel by using the sample delay plugin before SD (and, don't use any sample delay). But using the aux send channel is best practice anyway.

Damnit... I bought it when it first came out and now it is free. Definitely worth it, a fun game, and a nice change from the standard angry birds fair. Can get pretty hard and frustrating sometimes though.
