Axiom (2nd gen) encoder behavior

I'm using an M-Audio Axiom controller with Mainstage 3.

Since they're rotary encoders, it seems like they should be able to just increase the assigned screen control when turned right and decrease it when turned left, regardless of where it's starting from, if you understand what I'm saying. As is, I have to turn the knob a fair amount to 'catch' the onscreen value. Very slow in performance situations.

Is there a way to achieve what I'm after?

Thanks

William

It sounds like from Will's description that its setup correctly but responding slow to parameter changes.

Will, MainStage attempts to automatically detect the type of control messages sent from hardware like the Axiom. I would recommend switching to layout mode and re-assigning the controller to see if becomes more responsive. I have used that controller many times and haven't experienced problems like the one you are describing.
