Shipership
Hello, I use MainStage with a macbook Pro, and the octacapture soundcard (Roland). Recently, my computer shut down during my show: "Your computer restarted because of a problem. Press a key or wait a few seconds to continue starting up" And sometimes, i have some sound trouble in output. Something like petard. Someone can help me...? Thanks
Atlas007
Providing more detailed information about your system could help us help you. Many thing could have cause the computer to crash. Have you inspected the crash log? Did you change something to your system lately? The sound trouble could be caused by too low I/O buffer size. Increasing same might help. Have you since tried resetting your PRAM and SMC?
Shipership
Hello, My computer: Mac book pro retina, Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6, 8Go RAM. And the sound card, Octa-Capture AU1010 (Roland). And the two devices are connected by USB, with a "send and return" XLR from the OUT of the foh desk, in order to control effect for some lines. The crash test: Process: auvaltool [877] Path: /usr/bin/auvaltool Identifier: auvaltool Version: 476.2 Code Type: X86-64 (Native) Parent Process: MainStage 3 [701] Responsible: auvaltool [877] User ID: 501 PlugIn Path: /Applications/Waves/*/Scheps Parallel Particles.bundle/Contents/MacOS/Scheps Parallel Particles PlugIn Identifier: com.WavesAudio.Scheps Parallel Particles.10.0.58 PlugIn Version: 10.0.58 (10.0.5860) Date/Time: 2019-03-28 12:23:03.647 +0100 OS Version: Mac OS X 10.13.6 (17G5019) Report Version: 12 Anonymous UUID: C064D222-ED6A-116D-1538-28ED3BBBE707 Time Awake Since Boot: 84 seconds System Integrity Protection: enabled Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000000 Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY Termination Signal: Segmentation fault: 11 Termination Reason: Namespace SIGNAL, Code 0xb Terminating Process: exc handler [0] But i don't know what AUVALTOOL is. The I/Obuffer is 128 samples now. I will try to increase the buffer. And never tried resetting PRAM and SMC Thanks
Solution Atlas007 Posted April 2, 2019 Solution Share Posted April 2, 2019 The AUVALTOOL is a Logic embedded script (app routine) to assess 3rd party plugins compatibility...
Shipership
So what's wrong ?
Atlas007
Hard to tell... If AUVALTOOL is mentioned in the crash log, chances are that one of the 3rd party plugin(s) is causing the issue. Have you tried disabling them? Especially those used in your MainStage concert file. Either one at the time or all of them?

Maddcow
Have you tried disabling 3rd party plugins as Atlas007 suggested? Especially the Waves plugins. My first thought when looking at your crash log was that a plugin is causing the problem because AUVALTOOL is mentioned, in addition to Waves.
