Danythedog
Hi, I have 16 patches in MS, in which a piano is present in all my 16 ones (common). Is there a way to mute this piano according the patch Selected, let's say I want my piano on patch 1 but muted on 2 ? Thanks for help Dan
Maddcow
Is the piano patch on a concert-level channel strip or are you using aliases for the piano?
Danythedog
The piano is on the highest level (only 1 piano if this is your question), so it's present on my 16 different patches.
Maddcow
Put the piano plugin on a lower level channel strip (ie not concert level) and create an alias of this strip for every patch where you also want the piano. Then you don’t have to worry about muting.
Danythedog
How to do that ?
Maddcow
Create a channel strip (not at concert level) and setup your piano plugin. This will be your “master” piano strip. Select the strip and copy it. Then select the next patch where you want piano and from the Edit menu, select Paste Channel Strip As Alias (or whatever it’s called). Do the same for all patches where you want piano. You’ll now have an “alias” of the master piano strip that doesn’t use additional system resources for every instance you use.
