Adding Midi Clock to typical Click/Backing Track Scenario

I'll try to make this brief... I am going to be touring with a band this fall that has typically done the old stereo backing track with the click hard left and tracks hard right, which I know is a breeze to set up in Mainstage. For this tour, however, we are going to need to sync some of our guitar pedals to a midi clock for in-time looping and tremolo.

What is the best way to go from a regular backing/click track to one that includes sending Midi clock info? I realize it's easy to send a Midi clock signal in Mainstage, but how can I be sure that it will sync up with the backing/click track?
