Lazy M Beats
Hello all, The other day I was messing around building patches on serum and I was able to make a delay effect that I have long associated with Deadmau5 but I guess I didn't save it. The link below is a reference. you can hear a series of the type of effect I am talking about at the start of the video. I remember that at a certain delay value and when a certain note was pressed on an offbeat (?) that a similar fluttering delay effect effect was achieved. Does anyone have any tips on how to recreate a delay like this?
Lazy M Beats
Just to be clear they are the fluttering and kind of panned sounds that are around the nare/clap hits
David Nahmani
I hear sound effects echoed every 1/16th notes and panned in different positions in the stereo spectrum. I would create a track for each sound effect, pan each track where you want and add a 1/16th note delay. Then it's all in the interplay, which is how you arrange your sound effects and their delays. Note that there's also a great work on reverbs in the beginning of that track (didn't listen to the whole thing), that help creating the ambience, the vibe of the track. Lazy M Beats
Thanks David! If I can nail it I'll post an update.
