JCcares
Hi guys, I am trying to do an audio quantize on a vocal track on a modern song with a Soca (or calypso ) beat. The singer has sung it more on a 4/4( slightly straight )type of beat.I need to pull some of it so it falls into the right groove.Do I need to use a triplet grid/note selection or dotted? On a midi track I've sometimes used quantize to follow a drum beat groove. Is that possible in audio quantize? Here is a youtube sample of the beat the song is on: Song Tempo 120 -4/4 Time sig. Thanks.
Atlas007
Have you tried time flexing your audio track and using Groove track?

MikeRobinson
You'll probably find a "groove track" to be just the ticket. It's similar to the idea of (it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that ...) "swing," but more expressive. The idea is that music as notated (or, equivalently, as shown in the piano-roll window) probably does not reflect the constantly-varying tempo at which the music is actually played in live performance. Instead, one player "sets the groove" and the other players follow it.
