Orsanct
I thought I'd include this as an example of a simple song that uses occasional one-bar extensions (at the end of each verse) to give it a little more tension: not huge or overt, but a nice subtle touch. LET GO by Frou Frou (Imogen Heap & Guy Sigsworth) Basic structure: section/description (no. of bars) A Intro (10) B Verse 1 (17) C Chorus (16) D Interlude (4) B Verse 2 (17) C Chorus (16) E "Instrumental" (16) C Chorus (16) F Outro (32) Structure using changes (chord progression) only: A Intro (10) B Verse 1 (17) C Chorus (16) A Interlude (4) B Verse 2 (17) C Chorus (16) B "Instrumental" (16) C Chorus (16) C Outro (32) Phrase extension is a fairly common technique used by Heap, even in her very early songs such as, "Come Here Boy". project_lumino
I absolutly love Frou Frou, I got the album for xmas and am addicted to it. Listening to all her layered vocals and harmonies gave me plenty of inspiration for experimenting with my voice more. Thanks for the arrangement
