rhys
When your working long hours in the studio what sort of sound level do you like working at? Do you take breaks or just thrash it out until its done?
bobsbarricades
I approve of this question. Might I add to it? Technical: When you're being creative I assume you work in a home studio? How much do you care for the acoustic treatment of said room? If you don't care much for the acoustics of it, do you then go to a nice acoustically treated one to mix? acortini
I have big speakers, but i listen to low volumes....the days of loud music in the studio are long gone, even though there might still be bursts of volume here and there to feel a track and get excited. My room is semi treated with GK Acoustic panels, but i believe the lack of loud volume works in my favor as there are not too many reflections happening. I enjoy having somebody else mix my music or mix in another environment if i can:since most of the creative work happens in one place, a chance can help me to hear things in a different way, both literally and figuratively.
