Playing audio files directly from finder window

Thu Oct 22, 2020 11:40 pm

I seem to remember a time when I could open a folder of audio files and when I would hover over a file a triangle play button would appear and I could just play the file directly in the window. Now I have to open Quicktime or even worse iTunes to hear it. I really preferred the old way. Does that functionality no longer exist?

You can click it, then press the space bar, which will do exactly that.

Doing that opens the file in Quicktime for me. Just wanting to play audio files directly from within their folder without having to open an application.
