Pauly 6 String
So my nephew and I are watching TV and I pause the TiVo. He starts going cringing at the "squeal" and plugging his ears. He asks "don't you hear that?" which I didn't. I thought he was having the onset to a seizure. I open my FFT app and sure enough there is a 40db spike at 16kHz whenever I pause the TiVo whether its using the Bose 2.1 or the TV's speakers. A little Google'ing has me turn off the Dolby Digital setting on the TiVo and sure enough the spike is gone. The question is what would cause this? Also very impressed with his hearing, kinda freaky how much he can hear. I put a sine wave out with the app and swept the frequency up to 20kHz and he could hear at least up to 18kHz. Atlas007
Young ones usually have broader frequency earing range, which dulls out with age...
