fa
Hi there, I am looking for a Rhythm Software (mac compatible) that creates rhythms and loops with my own pre-recorded audio-midi files. In simple words a sort of handy tutor who's able to speed up the process of building different rhythms out of external sounds (files) previously recorded. Does anything like this exist...? Thanks
Scalene
Yellow there! This might help out. If you are using a rhythmic loop that you have previously recorded as an audio file (wav or aiff) and have placed it into an Audio Track within Logic's arrange page and require some easy variations on beat 'break-downs' or 'new rhythmic arrangements' then check out the folllowing link and download the AU "SupaTrigga": http://bram.smartelectronix.com/plugins.php?id=6 Play around with the parameters before, so you get an idea of what it does. Then, if you play the loop with this effect "in line" and bounce/record the loop for a minute or so, you'll get some nice variations on the original. If you like the pluggin, do make a donation, as it is freeware and the gentleman involved doesn't get paid for his hard work in porting/designing this lush FX. On the other hand... If you have time and want to learn how Aphex/Autechre and others get their mad rhythms, then check out this link: http://www.cycling74.com/products/maxmsp.html If you got the time and dedication, then the only limitation with Max/MSP is your imagination. It ain't free, but hell is it worth getting into... Works with MIDI and audio files. These can be recorded into Logic and sequenced out into amazing rhythic feats of madness. Nuff said really. Hope it helps.
