Danny Wyatt
UPDATE: With version 10.6.3 (at least), this is possible using the key commands shown below Even though I don't use the Anchor point too often, I always felt that Logic could have an option to set it when we click somewhere in the audio file and then right click the anchor bar down below. You can see that I clicked right in the beginning of that song, which is a kick drum (the small white vertical lines is where I clicked) What do you think? I'm gonna send this suggestion. sambosun
There are now key commands to set the anchor by marquee start or end selection. Try it out you'll love it!
Danny Wyatt
There are now key commands to set the anchor by marquee start or end selection. Try it out you'll love it! Thanks for sharing that. I didn't know about it I went to the Key Commands window and there's actually a Set Region Anchor to Playhead, but it doesn't work as expected. When in the File tab, if you click somewhere in the waveform and use the shortcut, nothing happens. If you go to the Track tab and put the playhead somewhere and use the shortcut, it puts it close to the playhead, but not really there. Look where the playhead is and where the anchor is: Now, it works when we are in the Main Window (Tracks / Arrangement). The same for the shortcuts you mentioned. Still, the dot in the region when in the Main Window vs the actual anchor icon is completely inaccurate, even if it works when you drag the region:
sambosun
There is still some weirdness going on if you reverse an Region via reverse on/off and try to place the anchor at the end of the region. For Risers like a simple reverse cymbal - At the moment you need to reverse the region - Marquee select the length and use the key command for Join to create a new Region - use the key command to place the anchor.
