dongrammar
Audio regions should be transparent so you can see the grid at ALL times. This is a deal breaker. It is very hard to edit without this as you can't immediately be sure of what is going on. Every other major DAW has this: Pro Tools Cubase Reaper Ableton

Ashermusic
Agree that it should be this way. Disagree that it is a deal breaker.
Kim Olesen
I just had a week in front of a pro tools rig and one of the very helpful things in the ui is that you can see the grid (a little bit, not much) through the regions. In logic you can see the grid behind muted regions but not through non muted regions. Why would this be helpful? When having a multitrack mix with many drum stems seeing if a snare is on time is really hard when the nearest view of the grid is the ruler. Mr Misfit
+1 Must say I totally agree with this one. With the piano editor we get perfect grid alignment to place notes. The tracks (arrange) window allows us to zoom closer and work more accurately but does not give us the visual guide to easily work this accurately. David Nahmani
I like how audio is represented in the Audio Track Editor, but I don't necessarily want to open another editor for this. Maybe something like this as you zoom in vertically on an audio track in the Tracks area?

myroslav91
I do alot of audio editing in the main arrange window and it's always grid based, so it would be great to have a variable level of transparency of the audio regions, in order to see the grid behind the region. I know Cubase has always had this feature and it's only something basic, but I'm sure would be a great bonus to many people. +1 if you agree
Eric Cardenas
You can use the Audio Track Editor if you want to see the grid behind the regions.
syra
+1000! This is killing me at the moment. I actually have to mute the regions in order to edit them.

heilei
+1 It's rather ironic, that Apple really likes to add unnecessary and distracting transparency all over the OS X UI, and here we have a spot where it would actually be USEFUL...
