mariess Posted July 24, 2013 Share Posted July 24, 2013 our drummer likes to smash his kit pretty hard on stage but during practice we use an electric kit to keep noise complaints down. i used superior drummer for his roland td3 Vdrums to give them a more authentic sound. Now i've updated to logic pro x i wanted to give the drum kit designer a go. It sounds a lot nicer in my opinion BUT the ride cymbal won't let you do anything but tap it gently. not really very useful in a heavy rock/metal band. i've tried using different drum mappings in the kit designer dropdown and then tried going in myself and setting up a mapped midi instrument but the samples for a loud ride hit just don't seem to exist anywhere on they keyboard. has anyone else come across this problem or is there something i'm doing wrong?
