skylark
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• the following is a re-post from the LP9 New Feature Suggestions forum ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• This is something I have thought about ---and wanted--- for a long time. Kinda surprised that it still doesn't exist... I'd like to be able to set a nice, round, even cycle to perform to ---like BAR 5 to BAR 9--- but I'd only like to record audio for a portion of that cycle, say from BAR 6.2.1.1 to BAR 8.2.4.1 , and build my take folder with that portion. Likewise I'd be able to hear my existing audio up until the punch in, instead of flying blind for the entire cycle area. Logic can already do this automatically (using the cycle mode with the punch in/out feature) on a one-time basis, but... Why can't it do it continuously (thereby creating the take folder)? Sure, we can trim the take folder to any dimension after the fact, but that doesn't solve the problem of not hearing any existing audio within the cycle. Seems like an obvious feature to have/want...
