Here we go. These mockups show what I mean.

Imagine you're working with high track counts say 250 or more

This is how it could work (one possible way):

1. Select one or more tracks/channelstrips

2. Open the color window

3. Choose color and click it

4. Done

If the option "Automatically color regions by track" is enabled the region will follow the track color/ get tint automatically.

Tinted trackheader and channelstrip backgrounds would help me visually to navigate and keep focused.

This could be either an option in the project settings (so color options are project based) or in preferences (global) "Display" (where one can change the editor background to bright. there is a lot of empty space) or it could be positioned in the color palette like Pro Tools does it.

Additionally there should be an option when moving a region from a blue colored track to another track with its own color the region should automatically get the color assigned from the track it is moved to.

This option plus viewtopic.php?f=41&t=106120 (track visibility management) would be

Golden
