LPX Randomly Unfreezing Tracks

Anyone else having trouble with tracks unfreezing. I think it's happened for me since 10.2.something if not 10 and I just didn't notice it.

It helps if I protect tracks but I've still had it happen. And possible triggers might be the plugin resetting bug or UAD plugs freezing and then I use the available dsp for more plugs.

What initially made me notice it was out of nowhere a UAD window would pop up letting me know plugs had been disabled because I was using too many. I was only using too many because track were unfreezing.

Hey, I was having the same issue earlier this year, and lost a lot of time (& probably some hair, as well...) on its account.

Not sure if this is good or bad news, but: while I wasn't able to sort a 'cure,' I've learned a couple workarounds which, while a bit tedious, have been solid about avoiding the random thawing / unfreezing of tracks. The most frequent culprit, in my experience, is "COMMAND + Z," especially when your CPU / RAM is being slammed. Try to avoid using it, especially when a simple re-edit is a viable option.

Another, more sinister wrinkle, at least for me, was having certain plugins revert back to factory default settings (as opposed to user default) upon said random unfreezings; this change would extend *retroactively*, overwriting saved settings without a trace. So, I've also gotten into the (admittedly tedious) habit of SAVING EVERYTHING as user-defined presets. Saving channel strips is often effective enough; but I also try & save individual plugins, too, if it's something that took awhile to get - like a bunch of eq curves or something. This has already saved my skin more than a couple of times.

Sincerely hope at least some of this helps.
