thepanthurr
Hey guys, I was hoping to set up a system where I could have, for instance, a C Major chord in my midi loop library-- and then have it auto transpose up when it finds my project is in F. That way, I could have a bunch of chords pre set and drag them in, instead of writing each individual note every time. Also, if there has anyone who has already done this, mind sharing your library with me? Thank you for your time, -- thePanthurr
David Nahmani
I was hoping to set up a system where I could have, for instance, a C Major chord in my midi loop library-- and then have it auto transpose up when it finds my project is in F. It is as simple as making sure the current project's key is C Major, creating your C Major chord MIDI region on a software instrument track, choosing a patch for the track, and drag and dropping the region to the Loop browser. Now that loop will match the key of any project you drag it in.
thepanthurr
I wished that was true-- but I have been doing exactly that, and when I make a C major chord (project in C Major), drag it to the loop browser, make a new project with a different key, and drag that region in-- it is still a C Major chord regardless of the key. What am I doing wrong?
thepanthurr
It is also worth noting that some apple midi loops as well do not change key when dragged in. Logic Pro X 10.3.2 Mac OS 10.12.

Logic Pro X 10.3.2 Mac OS 10.12.5 I was able to verify this too... that's very odd, seems like a bug.
volovicg
Agreed - I too see the same results in that the midi loop doesn't follow the first key signature ( which is should) Moving to the bugs section.....
