des99 Posted March 27, 2019 Share Posted March 27, 2019 It seems that Logic 10.4 has broken multichannel audio import over 10.3. With 4-channel files in quadraphonic mode, when importing into 10.3.x, the file format is detected as "Quadraphonic" and a single quad channelstrip meter displays activity in all four channels. The files playback correctly. With 10.4.x, this exact same setup doesn't display "Quadraphonic" on import, but detects the audio files as "Multichannel", and after import, only the middle two channels in the quad meter play - there is no activity on the outside channels 1 and 4, and those channels are not played. Additional: If you bounce out four channels to a multichannel file, and then re-import into 10.4, it now *does* detect the files as "Quadraphonic" and play them correctly. So there is something weird going on with the import procedure, or file format detection, with multichannel files in 10.4 This behaviour is verified by three different people on different systems, including myself.
