Don't Move VocalTransformer While Playback (Not a question)

Thu Sep 16, 2021 8:29 am

A warning about a bug i think, that's it. Don't move the stock plugin Vocal Transformer down or up in the processing order while playback. At least on Version 10.4.6.

It's like seeing a sign saying 'Wet Paint' - you just have to touch it.
Context is Everything.

Logic Pro 10.6.1. Mac OS 10.15.7
Mac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019) - 3.6 GHz Intel 8-Core i9 - 40 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
2.5 Tonnes of (antique?) equipment gathering dust in their racks

So I just touched the wet paint, on a 2012 MacBookPro, Mojave, Logic 10.5.1 and got the 735 dB spike with a hefty click in the (turned down) internal speakers, but only when initially putting the VocalTransformer into a channelstrip with active audio. I could then move it around the slots with no issues, and deleting and re-instantiating did not produce a spike. If I quit Logic and re-do the sequence, it happens again, as before, only once.

Almost same setup here, but couldn't reproduce, Mojave and 10.5.1 too... Tried with audio and SWI tracks, gui open or closed, mono and stereo... Care to share a step by step to recreate ?

I've tried multiple times, tried again just now, and cannot reproduce this here either. It would be interesting if we can pinpoint the conditions that make this bug occurr.
