Logic Drummer playing EZDrummer 2

Recommended Posts

If you update your EZDrummer 2 to the latest patch as well as all your EZDrummer Expansion packs, you can now switch drum pieces from all your Expansion packs thru the GUI.

So mix and matching not just the drum pieces, but loading a preset for a given Expansion packs yields some cool results.

Now for the bad news, good news.

What's cool is both Logic Drummer and EZDrummer 2 share 3 additional drum pieces, Tambourine, Shaker and Clap.

While Logic Drummer does follow the General MIDI Level 1 Sound Set here:

EZDrummer 2 doesn't. doh.png.01616a6f0fbce13d64dca32c6308d118.png

This video shows that but also shows how you can use the Logic Pro X MIDI Plug-In Script to fix that.

I use this instead of cabling up something in The Enviroment because if Toontrack decides to follow the General MIDI Level 1 Sound Set in EZDrummer 2, all you have to do is remove the Logic Pro X MIDI Plug-in Script from your EZDrummer 2 track in Logic Pro X and you're sill good to go.

The script is shown at the end of the video, pause or screen capture to get it.
