When you modify a MIDI track.

I often record a midi part, but later want to modify it in some way.. If it is an important part, I export the midi file. Remember MIDI can only start recording with the first event. Take note if where the part starts. I might label it something like " Horn 1 Measure 31"or I sometimes put an unused CC event on measure 1, beat 1 for easy lining up.. Sometimes you modify the MIDI track so much, you need to get back where you started. Other times I make a copy of midi part - move to end of song - and mute it.

If I MUTE a fair amounts of notes (that I might want later for an answering part). I mute it, and move two octaves down.. So it's still easy to get to, if I change my mind or want to use the muted notes for another instrument.
