David Nahmani
Here is a preset I created after a friend complained that all the vocoder presets in Logic sound too far away from the original voice and too much "synthy"... so this one is pretty clean and doesn't stray too far from your original voice. CleanVoc.pst.zip Place the file in ~/Library/Application Support/Logic/Plug-In Settings/EVOC 20 PolySynth/ Edited January 17, 2006 by David Nahmani

subatomicsatan
Hi David, You have my thanks as well. One thing of note is that the EVOC folder is not present in my home directory, but rather in /Library/ , etc. I assume having the file in either location is OK... james
mwasserman
David, this is a total N00b question, but I downloaded this preset... now where do i put it so I can use it in Logic Pro 8? I did a spotlight search on my computer for an "evoc" folder, but found nothing. Thanks a ton! -Martin
Dylanantilog
david gave the directory info under the file link: "Place the file in ~/Library/Application Support/Logic/Plug-In Settings/EVOC 20 PolySynth/" that should work!

amputease
i would love to hear some more evoc vocoder channel strip setting if any one wants to share its all ways tuff to find the right vocoder! Hi David, I'm new at this but I did copy the .pst file into a created directory logic/plug-in settings/EVOC 20 PolySynth but I am unable to use it in Logic 8. Sorry for such a dumb question, but how do I access it? Thanks, amp
David Nahmani
Insert the EVOC 20 PolySynth on the instrument slot of a software instrument channel strip, and look in the settings menu of that plug-in (which should say #default). dsound
I can't seem to download it. It just refreshes the page
David Nahmani
It downloads fine here, but it's very fast, you barely see it. Look for a CleanVoc.pst file in your Download folder or desktop, depending on what your settings are.

Are you then not talking about the setting in this thread?
ThespirationProductions
I downloaded the setting..and then when i brought up the evoc,i went and loaded the channell strip in evoc and it sounded like the default vocoder
David Nahmani
I downloaded the setting..and then when i brought up the evoc,i went and loaded the channell strip in evoc and it sounded like the default vocoder Well then something's wrong... It should sound totally different. Did you assign the sidechain and all that? Do you actually get a vocoder effect at all (can you hear the synthetized voice)? dkgross
very nice. I recently bought a MicroKorg XL vocoder. I like the sound of this!! Also, I've used the http://www.eiosis.com/elsvocoder as well. Very tweakable.

David Nahmani
It doesn't make any sounds when I load in the preset?... Make sure: 1) You choose an audio source from the side chain menu. 2) You play MIDI notes/chords on the EVOC track.
Eriksimon
What David said is the very condensed "how-to" of the EVOC, here are the details: http://documentation.apple.com/en/logicstudio/instruments/index.html#chapter=10%26section=
