ckbarlow
I'm in Logic Pro 10.2.2. There's no longer a bottom-margin disclosure area with the Distortion slider, and I don't see Distortion in Controls view either… There are the Tape Head Modes of Clean and Diffuse. Mark R
It seems that the old 'Distortion Level' slider has been renamed 'Clip Threshold' Sometimes I really like the new Diffuse option. It has a nice transient smearing effect that helps the push the echoes farther behind the original sound.
David Nahmani
It seems that the old 'Distortion Level' slider has been renamed 'Clip Threshold' And appropriately too: most people interpreted "distortion level" as "amount of distortion added" (vs "signal level where distortion starts occurring"), and wondered why lowering the fader resulted in more distortion. I agree, and I think it was very wise to bring the stock plugins extra features out of hiding. Do you think the new "Diffusion" option is actually a type of in line convolution impulse response? Kind of sounds like it might be.
