editbrain
use this setup to record your midi patch into an audio track use cntrl-s to strip silence use cntrl-f to convert regions to audio files open exs24 instrument editor drag the files from your finder onto the keyboard create the exs24 instrument however you wish. you can also use program changes if you wish, but i find that right now it is easier for me just to find the patch i want to save and run this process. i will update this soon so that it takes advantage of other environment objects, cycle mode, etc. editbrain Sampling Template.lso.zip
jmarti
Editbrain, Nice templates, thanks. I'm having trouble getting Strip Silence to give me uniform regions to save as audio regions. 1. What strip silence settings are you using? 2. Are you editing each wave file after you strip silence them? I'm rrecording virtual instruments and Audio Units like the ES2 and EVD6--the bass notes are sustaining longer than the high notes. 3. Also, I have to rename each new region/ audio .wav file, putting in the root key name, for the EXS24 to automap them. Is there a way to batch rename all the audio files for one EXS24 instrument? Again, thanks. J. Marti
editbrain
i am not renaming them. i click shift + A and then set the folder to record the main file. then after i strip silence and save i name them again, and i get a file name like blank_1.wav, blank#2.wav, blank#3.wav. the only setting i change on the strip silence is the threshold where i use 1 as the setting. i am sampling external instruments not internal, but should be the same. here is my method. 1. set up the recoding folder and name for the main file. 2. record the sample 3. cntrl + S (strip silence) 4 set the threshold to 1 5. cntrl + F (convert regions to audio files) this is where you name the files for sequential naming... i.e. rubber band bass and then all the other files will be rubber band bass#1, rubber band bass#2, etc. 6. I set a key command for the exs editor (open the editor) 7. zone > import multiple samples 8. chose the type of import 9. save the exs file hope this helps. editbrain
