ibt
1 : Pattern Toggler This is just a simple adaptation, for the microKontrol’s 16 pads, of an environment posted by David a few years ago ( here ). You could program two scenes on your mK, one with pads set to momentary, the other with pads set to toggle (“Typ:Momt” or “Typ:Tgle”) And better if the pads and keyboard transmit on different MIDI channels, if you want a pads=>drums keyboard=>synth combo, for example. Or, on the microKontrol, program the pads and keyboard to transmit on different ports (TxPort:A, or B) NB This doesn’t work if the mK is in ’native mode’. To disable that, either use Logic’s key command for bypassing control surfaces, or the microKONTROL.bundle can be moved out of the MIDI Device Plug-ins folder (Applications/Logic Pro.app/Contents/MIDI Device Plug-ins) edit : Ha! On your microKontrol, change the definition of pads in a Scene to ‘ Ctrl Chg ‘ (instead of Note) and ' Typ:Tgle ‘, and the pads on the mK light up and reflect the on screen pads. That’s more like it. So, I’m replacing the first version to take account of this (adding a transformer to convert those control messages back to Logic’s Fader messages, and reversing the on/off value. Change the channel number in Conditions to match the channel your mK pads are sending on) http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz341/ibt123/Patterntogglerformicrokontrol.png Pattern Toggler (for microKontrol).logic.zip
ibt
2 : Kontrolome A 16 beat looper*, using SysEx fader objects to trigger the pad lights. In the environment window, mouse click INIT, then mouse click any of the pad-buttons. The corresponding pad on your microKontrol should light. While Logic is playing, press and hold down the SETTING button, press a pad, and immediately release the SETTING button. Pressing another pad (past the pad that triggered the sequence), while holding down the SETTING button, will shorten the sequence length - you can even loop a single pad. Can somebody try it out, and confirm it works**? http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz341/ibt123/Screenshot2011-05-25at180926.png *In this instance, it’s a one bar loop (an Apple Loop>sliced into 16 regions>Convert Regions to New Sampler Track, mapped C2 - D#3), but could just as well be 2 bars, or 4 etc - adjust the arpeggiator settings, in the Inspector, to match the loop length - eg. a 2 bar audio file or Apple Loop, sliced in 16, would have resolution and length set to 1/8. **As with the other environment, you’ll need to move the microKONTROL.bundle from the Logic Pro.app MIDI Device Plug-ins folder. microKontrol SysEx info: microKONTROL_MIDI.pdf Kontrolome.zip
ibt
3 : Kontrolome v.2 Works as the first version, but I've added a couple of transformers, and changed some cabling to allow recorded MIDI notes on the arrange page to send the corresponding feedback out to the microKontrol's pads. Plus, tweaked the SysEx strings so the LCDs run from side to side, as a kind of visual metronome... as seen in this Kontrolome v.2.zip
