Accessing Garageband Instruments

Hi,

I am new to Logic X. Worked logic 9 for years.

I cannot access any Garageband instruments when selecting a Software Instrument in a Channel Strip.

In logic 9 It would be available in the pop-up list.

Any advice on how to get then to show up there is Very Welcome.

Option-click the instrument slot and a Legacy subfolder will appear in the plug-in menu.

When i try this i go into the Legacy subfolder and open up my desired Instrument but it only allows me to use one instrument or patch on each.. Please help!! It works fine in Logic Pro 9 all the GarageBand instruments are available....

This is a known issue.

You can work around it a couple of ways:

1- Create a symbolic link to the folder that contains the legacy instrument's settings (for example, "Hybrid Basic" ) in /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Plug-In Settings/ and place it in either:

/Users/your username/Music/Audio Music Apps/Plug-In Settings/

or

/Library/Application Support/Logic/Plug-In Settings/.

2- Copy the legacy instrument's settings folders and place them in one of the locations given above.
