ninose11
Hello everyone, I recently had the chance to rent the Universal Audio Solo 610 mic preamp. I like it so much but I can't afford to buy it at $1k. Can anyone tell me if there's any plugin within Logic Pro X than can emulate the warm sound and power you get with the UA Solo 610? Logic Pro X has so many plugins, but I just don't know which one would be the closest match or if there's anyway software wise within Logic to get the same results. Thanks very much in advance for your help.
triplets
The only way is to get either a Universal Audio interface, or a UAD Satellite. That way you're getting into the UA plugin platform, which emulates a lot of classic hardware, and very well.
ninose11
Thank you for your feedback, triplets. So no Logic Pro X plugin that will give you the same effect then? I was hoping that I could do something EQ wise in combination with some plugin that would get me there. Guess I'll have to save up and get the 610 then. Thanks again. safetyfirst
this one gets close: https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products/unfiltered_audio_indent.html also soundtoys radiator and decapitator. of course it is not like the real thing but you can get close. http://www.soundtoys.com/product/decapitator/ http://www.soundtoys.com/product/radiator/ the whole soundtoys bundle is definitely worth it. around christmas it goes for 299. one of the best purchases ever. but saving for the ua610 is also good! simon.a.billington
There is Clip Distortion. You only really need the mix on 1%, I'd say less, but it doesn't accomodate values that small. Or you can try something like Waves NLS. They have crazy Black Friday sales, so it's possible you could pick it up for cheap.
