angelonyc
I've been looking at a couple of Iphone/Ipad apps running virtual instruments.. Are these very inexpensive apps, the same as full fledge AU's, or missing features, fidelity, etc? While if feel it weird to use. is audio carried out the USB connection? (or is that up to individual apps). Be interested to hear feedback from folks doing this.
Trancespotter
Yes, you can use IDAM to carry the audio from the iOS synths to Logic (or any other DAW). IDAM basically treats your iDevice like an audio device such as a hardware synth. You can also send MIDI to your iOS synths using IDAM. As far fidelity, that’s still not completely certain. Some people say it’s as good as desktop VST’s, others say they are still lower fidelity. The best way to compare them is probably to just use a single saw oscillator without any FX on your desktop VST and iOS device and note any differences.
