Can my iMac Run Pro X

Sat May 23, 2020 3:46 am

Hi ...First post.

I have been offered a 21.5" iMac Mid 2010 With specs of 3.6Ghz i5 Dual Core 12gb Ram 1TB SSD Running MacOS Catalina and would be grateful
to know if it would run Logic Pro X. It would only be for a beginner and in time an upgrade would be on the cards... Much appreciated

The short answer is yes. What you intend to record then extends that discussion:). Your RAM would be about your only let down. If it’s running Catalina it’s obviously metal compatible which is good.

RAM is upgradeable to 16gb & I intend to do so. Would it be sufficient.

I wouldn't invest any more money in that computer. We're talking a 10-year old dual-core, not much more you can get out of it.
Save your money for the actual upgrade.

Running Catalina? And it's a 2010 machine? Highly doubt that. I have a 2011 MacBook Pro and I can only install High Sierra on it, no Mojave and definitely no Catalina.
