Logic 4.8 with XP compatability

It's possible but not easy. I've just upgraded from 98SE to XP and I'm still struggling. You need to update from whatever version you've got to Logic 4.8.1 which is possible through

http://web.archive.org/web/20050205171628/www.emagic.de/support/download/lag481W.php?lang=EN

and

http://web.archive.org/web/20050205113859/http://www.emagic.de/support/download/archive.php?lang=EN

Once you've done that you need a specific updater to get Logic to talk to the dongle in XP. That file is called lagwin2kkeyfindfix.exe (or lap.... I presume). I cannot find this file on the Net at the moment. I have posted requests on various forums and I'm waiting. If I find it I'll tell you

Cheers

hi,

i just bought logic audio gold 4.0.

i downloaded all updates up to 4.8.1 but i still can't install logic gold 4 on pc win xp.

it says, that it cannot install the software, only on win95.

can anyone upload the logic gold 4 installer exe for win xp? i saw it once on sonik matter forum, but the link is dead.

i think there's no harm for uploading the installer, since this software is copy-protected with a hardware dongle. please correct me if i'm wrong.

any help would be much appreciated.

cheers

Emagic sent out special CD's (to people who asked for them) with

Windows 2000/XP compatible versions of Logic 4.81 - Gold &

Platinum only though.

Other than the installers it's just the regular v4.x tutorials on the

CD so Private Message me if you want either of them. Needless to

say it only works if you have a dongle.

Gold - LAGSetup.exe (14MB)

Platinum - LAPSetup.exe (19MB)

I'd post them to the 'Logic Templates & Environments' page of

this forum but, I daresay, this would contravene some agreement

or another - unless the moderators approve...

It would be good, however, to have a permanent online archive

for these files, an image of the whole CD even, given that I'm

regularly being asked for them on the Logic User Group, eMagic

aeons ago stopped supporting v4 and you need a dongle anyway.
