defy
Im reasonably new to logic, and working on my first tune on it. Its been pretty good so far except for this problem i keep getting; When i open a new track and attempt to record a new midi event from the synth it comes up with this error: "COULDNT RECORD EVENTS! Reorganize memory? 1.0.0 i click ok to reorganize memory and it keeps happening over and over. the song currently has 15 tracks to it and i cant get an 16th becayse of that error. I can still freely record new events into the other tracks however... Am i missing something pretty obvious? computer is a 8core macpro with 10gb ram and lots of hdd space. and logic 8 fyi. thanks in advance jarrod Edited October 2, 2008 by defy
David Nahmani
Open Options > Project Information... any of those numbers really high? Do you want to post a screenshot?
defy
OK. Looks like the environments section is way high about 9614938. so that bsically says im out of ram? (if that is in kb)
David Nahmani
It's not RAM, its the memory the project file takes. How many objects in your environment?

A template? it started from scratch. When you say "object" - what does that classify as?
David Nahmani
Pretty much any "thing" you use in the environment: a channel strip, a physical input, an instrument, a multi-instrument, a transformer, a monitor.... anything. If you're not sure what's wrong with your file you can try to upload it here and I'll look at it?
defy
Thanks for the offer - i may take it up; so basically does logic have a limit on the amount of ojbects in the project - like a software limitation rather then hardware? How many objects would you expect in a typical dance track of 6mins+length?
defy
here is a screen shot of my project and project info finally. http://www.defy.net.nz/projectinfo.jpg http://www.defy.net.nz/logic.jpg any other screen shots u may require? notice the environment objects, it was at 11000+ now 8300+ but still comes up with the recording error.
