pier
I'm running into a problem with kontakt 4 that sometimes the sampler doesn't receive the note off messages. I'd like to monitor the midi activity but the monitor in the environment only shows note on and velocity... I'm sure logic has some way of doing this.... but how? David Nahmani
The monitor in the environment should show you the Note off as well. Its symbol is a little note with a strike through it.
45rpm
In a situation like this another handy tool is MIDIMonitor.
pier
I only see note on... maybe I have some bug in logic that it's not generating note off messages?
David Nahmani
What are you doing and where is your monitor cabled?
pier
In a situation like this another handy tool is MIDIMonitor. Thanks but afaik midimonitor only monitors external midi... not virtual instruments inside logic
45rpm
midimonitor only monitors external midi. Of course you're right. My mistake for not reading carefully. Thanks for the correction. By the way, didn't you know that Roland is shipping a new midi keyboard called the Kontakt 4? Or maybe it was Korg, I don't remember. Just kidding. pier
What are you doing and where is your monitor cabled? I've discovered it's a logic bug many users with external instruments are suffering. It happens randomly when cycle is enabled with external instrument tracks afaik. Logic doesn't send any note off... or something like that. I create an external instrument (to have different tracks for the different midi channels) and then route it to kontakt. I've also tried with creating a multitimbral software instrument with the same result...
