PCCHH
Hi there Here is a workaround to change the Emagic AMT 8 / Unitor port names. The names are not changeable in AMS directly, but you can change the port names (by default Port 1, Port 2 etc.) in the .mcfg file of your Midisetup in the user/Library/Audio/MIDI Configurations. It is good to copy the file first to your desktop, so if something goes wrong, you can copy it back. Each AMS configuration is stored in your user Library/Audio/MIDI Configuration Folder. It has an .mcfg extension. On actual OS X Versions, like Lion or Mountain Lion you maybe need to make hidden files and folders visible. The Terminal command can be found with your favorite search engine. Hope this helps to increase your workflow Cheers
David Nahmani
The names are not changeable in AMS directly Actually they are! Just like for any MIDI interface: create virtual devices for your actual MIDI devices, name them, and connect them to the corresponding ports on your virtual MIDI interface. Logic will use the names of the virtual devices connected to each port.
