Couple of Logic Pro X questions [SOLVED]

Hey all,

quick question, I am pretty new to logic pro x and I am trying to get some good workflows going.

 

First off,

How do I attach multiple tracks to a "aux" track so I can control the filter, volume swells or other effects?

I can't seem to get that to setup correctly.

 

How do I punch in recording midi data without erasing all of my old midi?

How do I attach multiple tracks to a "aux" track so I can control the filter, volume swells or other effects?

Select multiple tracks and choose Track > Create Track Stack, then choose a summing stack.

How do I punch in recording midi data without erasing all of my old midi?

Choose File > Project Settings > Recording and set Overlapping Recordings to Join with Selected Region.

In terms of automation is there a way to apply automation to multiple tracks?

I am trying to make like a "filter sweep" on a synth track but I can't seem to get a nice filter sweep

another quick question:

 

How do I make separate tracks for just the kick drum, snare drum and hihat? duplicating the drums is duplicating all of the auxiliary tracks and busses, which is just making my project very messy.
