dukeh62
Is one more "destructive" than the other in terms of audio quality and artifacts? I have two songs I need to speed up/slow down and they aren't tied to the grid. I've beat-mapped them and used flex time, but the feels seems a little sterile (quantize is off). I seem to get more natural FEELING time when I use Varispeed, but I want to make sure I'm not going to regret it later b/c of audio quality. I'm only speeding up/down about 2-4%. Also, I assume the best thing to do is to export each track at unity gain and import them into a new session before I start adding other tracks? Thanks! Eric Cardenas
I would use Flex time over Varispeed. Varispeed will actually print audio to disk at the "real" tempo so there is some degradation. You have also more flexibility with algorithms using flex. I'm not sure why you are getting different feelings?
