ESL
What is that? I get the message "x regions changed" before I'm opening certain projects (happens suddenly, for no apparant reason), and when the project opens up, Logic have messed up x number of audio clips. Sometimes I can't find the clips in the audio window either..Sometimes It happens right after fresh recorded material with no external audio files involved. Anyone experiencing this behaviour? Corrupt Hard drive? It's really embarrasing when the client is present and all of a sudden all the files get messed up.

ESL
Same question as http://logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=11627 Yes, sounds like my problem. Yes, I'm working with project folders. Don't know about the "Set to automatically record any audio into the project folder" - thing. But do you know how to fix it? Thanks!

David Nahmani
Invalid region changes happen when an audio file has been modified without the song "knowing" it, meaning you've modified the audio file in another song, or with another application. If you use Project Folders and make sure they are set to copy (or include) all audio files in the project folder, you shouldn't have that problem. But I've never modified audio files ouside the project. I never import files from other Logic projects and I don't own no audio editors either. This is freshly recorded audio with no editing. For instance, sometimes a guitar clip get replaced by a violin clip or whatever. It seems to stop when I'm glueing clips on a track together, but I doesn't always remember to do that, and it shouldnt be necessary either. It seems to happen for no reason. That's why I suspected that it was a hard drive error (WD MyBook Firewire).

ESL
Oh by the way I also use the same external drive Well, there's the answer then. A friend of mine who also use the same drive have similar problems. I better buy a new one.
oakmoon
let me know if you have same problem after replacing wwith new ext drive. I do not have problem when I auto replace over midi regions. It seems to only happen when I toggle record or auto drop over an audio region and/or if I do not merge or glue together. Thx.
oakmoon
David, you mentioned before that Invalid regions happen when regions are modified without the song knowing this and to set up project folders. I think your right, this may be the problem. Its as if my audio files are not linked to a song file or project and get edited while working on trax in another song. My audio files are present and play ok in the audio window. So how do I save my song properly then ? I always choose to save as a project. What else should I be doing ?
