DesMusic
I've bought new midi-contoller with faders, knobs and other functions and there's real problem for me. When I use midi track (External MIDI) logic send all changes to midi out (volume, expression, dynamics) and it shows on midi-contoller. So it works in both directions. But if I use audio track or software instrument track logic don't send anything when I change midi parameters (for example expression). It works only in one direction (from midi keyboard to logic) I need to see all changes on midi-contoller when I work with computer.
David Nahmani
What MIDI controller are you using? Click this link to your signature and add your system information: • Logic version and sub-version (e.g. Logic 10.0.7) • OS X version and sub-version (e.g. OS 10.9.3) • Computer (e.g. MacBook, Mac Pro, iMac) • Processor (e.g. 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) • Memory (e.g. 2GB) • Audio interface manufacturer and model (e.g. Presonus AudioBox USB) • MIDI Controller manufacturer and model (e.g. M-Audio Axiom Pro 49) (most of that information can be found by choosing Logic Pro X > About Logic Pro X, and > About This Mac)
DesMusic
What MIDI controller are you using? I just bought new controller from Native Instruments (Kontrol S49) with 8 rotary and digital display for each parameter, Now I can see value of any midi cc. David Nahmani
Now I can see value of any midi cc. Does that mean your issue is resolved?
DesMusic
Does that mean your issue is resolved? No. Logic sends midi data to midi-controller only if I use external midi tracks. It doesn't work with software instruments tracks.
Jordi Torres
Logic sends midi data to midi-controller only if I use external midi tracks. It doesn't work with software instruments tracks. That's the expected behavior. Only external MIDI tracks (and software instrument tarcks using the External Instrument plug-in) send MIDI out of Logic. If you want Logic to always "forward" the MIDI it receives from the controller, you could set it up in the MIDI Environment Window. If you mean you want to see MIDI data you've recorded or entered manually coming out from Logic, there's no way around it, the track has to be assigned to an object that outputs MIDI (instrument or multi-instrument). DesMusic
Yes. I did it! But not quite as shown in your picture. I connected Inst 1 with midi object where I choose output for my midi-controller in Mixer layer. But is there some universal output for all track I created in my project? Or I need do it for each new track?
