Akai Mpd 24 + Logic Pro X

Good morning,

I am writing you mainly because my desperation has got to its limit! hahah

I bought some years ago in Spain an Akai MPD 24 and was willing to produce, mix and record some music.

My principal interests are hip-hop instrumentals and beatmaking as dub, reggae, and some electronic music.

The problem I have had is that while trying to use Logic Pro X it seems that it doesn't detect the midi interface, I have adjusted some settings in the computer and in the Akai but I cannot find a reason. I have seen lots of videos and tutorials and read this page from Akai (http://www.akaipro.com/kb/article/1510) but non of them answer my question.

I can also use Ableton (Live 8) but it seems that Logic is much easier and handy for what I want to do. I want to be able to sample with the pads and download sound and instrument packages, mix songs etc. but it seems that I cannot find a way of starting to do it IF I am not able to sync, connect or map my Akai with any programme!

Please someone help me!

Thank you very much!

Are you connecting it straght to the computer via USB or using the 5-pin DIN MIDI Out to connect to a MIDI interface? If the former, do you see any reference to the Akai in your MIDI window in Audio MIDI Setup (Applications/Utilities)?
