Using a second Mac for effects and samples

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering if there is a way to do this. I have a 2007 Mac Pro which unfortunately cannot run any OS past 10.7.5. That leaves a lot of the newer software unuseable for me. I can't afford a new Mac Pro. My Mac Pro has a UAD quad card in it that I love and a large collection of sampler instruments. Can I get a new iMac to use as my main Logic machine and somehow access the UAD card and sampler instruments on the old Mac Pro? For now I'm using Logic 9, I don't believe my machine can run Logic X.

Thanks David, someone on the Apple forum told me about the exact same product, it looks pretty cool. You make a good point about the work flow issue. But considering that I usually don't start adding UAD plugs until the mixing stage due to latency, it might not bother me too much.
