fretnoise
I'm wondering if there is a way to do this. I have a 2007 Mac Pro which unfortunately cannot run any OS past 10.7.5. That leaves a lot of the newer software unuseable for me. I can't afford a new Mac Pro. My Mac Pro has a UAD quad card in it that I love and a large collection of sampler instruments. Can I get a new iMac to use as my main Logic machine and somehow access the UAD card and sampler instruments on the old Mac Pro? For now I'm using Logic 9, I don't believe my machine can run Logic X. David Nahmani
You could look into Vienna Ensemble Pro: https://www.vsl.co.at/en/Vienna_Software_Package/Vienna_Ensemble_PRO However keep in mind that this will make your workflow more complex, as opening a song will mean open two files, the Logic file on the iMac and the VEP file on the slave computer. fretnoise
Thanks David, someone on the Apple forum told me about the exact same product, it looks pretty cool. You make a good point about the work flow issue. But considering that I usually don't start adding UAD plugs until the mixing stage due to latency, it might not bother me too much.
