MrSpock
Just looking for suggestions for a SSD that would work with a 2009 Mac Mini (model? capacity? etc.). Also, would I have to replace the original internal HD or just use the SSD as an external drive (sorry, not clued up on modifications - just been using my Mac Mini 'as standard' from new). If it is an 'internal job' (which I'm guessing it is!) can someone point me to in the right direction here? CHEERS!
triplets
If you're going the SSD route it would be to replace the internal HD. But remember that these drives are expensive. 500 gigs are about 200 bucks. You can check www.macsales.com This would be for your Mac Mini: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/internal_storage/SSD/Mercury_Electra_3G_Solid_State This what it means to install one: http://eshop.macsales.com/installvideos/mac_mini_2009_hd/
Atlas007
I made the switch to a Samsung 840 EVO 1TB a couple of years ago and am fully satisfied with its performance and reliability. I did the switch myself from the original SSD that came stock in my MBP, following the instructions found on ifixIt. There are several places to check on the web... Eric Cardenas, if I recall well, underwent that process already with success...
