Possible AU plugin for particular vintage synthesizer???

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am looking for an AU plugin to use in conjunction with Logic X for the following synthesizer:

http://www.vintagesynth.com/misc/wave.php

There is one by Waldorf, but, it crashes Logic X consistently. It won't even pass the initial installation.

I ask because Tangerine Dream were very fond of using this synth in the early 1980's...the original PPG, I believe. In my particular case, any version of the PPG Wavetable synth in AU format will do.

Anybody?

Thanks.

There are at least two PPG's by Waldorf, the 2.v and the 3.v. And they have two other wavetable synths, Largo and Nave.

There are also some by the creator of the original PPG himself:

Personally, I'm a big fan of Element.

If you want stack sounds, you can always stack a couple of these into a Summing Track. That wi give you big and lush and more flexible mix and editing options.

Be careful not to over do it though.

Just downloaded the demo for Element.

Btw, have you ever heard of U-he's virtual analog synth...Diva? It is quite good as well.

Thanks.

Hey Simon,

I wish you hadn't shown me this...Element, that is. Just playing with the presets...the sequences are sick. Total old-school 'Tangerine Dream-ish'. Now I am going to have to figure out some way to buy it! :D

By the way, what do you mean by, 'be careful not to over do it'?

Thanks.

LOL... Glad you can find value in it!!

And if you're into wavetable synths, check out Codex while you're there!! :)

Will check Codex out. Watched an overview video of it and it definitely looks very complex compared to Element.

Thanks.
