AMD
Hi everyone. There are some presets on my vmk-188 for different apps like Reason, for example. I loaded up the Reason preset to see how it would function with Logic and I noticed that when I selected different tracks in Logic's mixer, one particular fader on the vmk was able to control the fader on any track I selected in Logic. I thought that this was very handy, so I tried to figure out how this was working. I looked at the transport to see what CC number the fader was transmitting, but nothing showed up. CC numbers show up for all the other faders and knobs etc, except this one! Does anyone know why this might be, or how I can replicate this behaviour for some of the other faders and knobs? Ideally I would like a few parameters on the vmk to control the same parameters in Logic, no matter what track I select. Thanks in advance. Jordi Torres
Hi, I looked at the transport to see what CC number the fader was transmitting, but nothing showed up. CC numbers show up for all the other faders and knobs etc, except this one! Sounds like it might already be assigned...and the assignment's Channel Strip parameter set to "Selected Track". J. AMD
Hi Jordi. Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure I follow, but I'll check the controller and see if there's a setting like 'selected track' or similar. Thanks.
Jordi Torres
Hi, I'm talking about the Controller Assignments window in Logic, "Expert View". Hit Option-Shift-K to get there, or Logic Pro X > Control Surfaces > Controller Assignments... Having such an assignment will give the results you describe/want. J. AMD
Ah, I see! That looks like it could be what I'm after. I'll take a look tomorrow morning when I'm in front of Logic. Thanks!
AMD
That's the one Jordi. Just need to check the manual to see how to configure this properly. Thanks for your help!
