HELP! I've killed LP9 MIDI input somehow

I was trying to set up an external synth to work in LP9 as an External Instrument but mostly failed. But this morning fired up Logic and have no midi signal whatsoever. I use an external keyboard via a midi cable to my Focusrite interface which is connected to the mac via USB. The signal is getting to the Focusrite OK as I tested it in OS Audio Midi setup but no longer appearing in Logic. I was fiddling with the environment to try and set up the external synth so suspect I may have disconnected something in there accidentally that has cut the Midi 'cable' or alternatively have done something to the OS end of midi without knowing it.

Any help really gratefully received, I've really cocked up this time, as we say in Britain.

When you play notes, do you see them in the transport window? (Transport window view: Custom)

If you don't, and the environment cable is in place, then Logic is most likely not receiving MIDI data - check your device and MIDI interface first.

Got Midi input back--no idea how but may have been cabling/interface issue. But now have new problem. Ghost notes (high C on a piano or vibes type sound??? ) playing when I release ANY keyboard key and when ANY Logic instrument is in place. Suspect this is an OS system issue as nothing shows in the Logic mixer???
