Intermittent recording of MIDI data

Hi,

 

I have assigned a MIDI controller to a plugin parameter, and I am trying to record MIDI data as the song is playing. After I start recording and twist the MIDI controller, I notice that although the plugin is always responding to every little change, Logic only records MIDI data into the region every now and then (not all the time, and not all the data). Sometimes it starts recording some MIDI data only after several seconds since the recording started. On the other hand, every time I twist the MIDI controller, a small, empty red region appears in the arrangement window, but it quickly disappears. After I finish recording, only very few new regions with MIDI data appear, because all the small empty ones have been automatically deleted (they disappeared).
