Jfever
Hi, I have a preamp that is just not very loud LOL. I can record with some levels but they are not up to where I want them to be. What is the best method for increasing gain in Logic? If I use the gain plugin am I doing it the best way? Thanks.
Eric Cardenas
Sure. Logic's Gain plug-in works fine for this task. The problem is that your recording is still not optimal. Raising gain after a recording will also raise the noise floor.
Jfever
Which would then be attributed to how sound proof the room is right? Because the act of raising gain on a 24bit recording is not going to show artifacts in of itself right?

What preamp is it? What instrument are you recording? What source level are you comparing to the level you want? What is you interface output level setting at? How loud is loud? Noise can be anything from source (instrument, amplifier, speaker...) and room to microphone to wires to preamp to ADC and other electronic components... Jfever
What does 2400 ohms mean? Sounds like a heck of a lot of resistance.
