wjm
I was getting very confused why my audio region was muting itself when I moved it. Furthermore I couldn't unmute it with the usual methods - the only way to get the audio region back "on" was to "UNDO" the region move that created the muted state. Further investigation led me to see that the problem was weirdly more complex. This problem only happens if the External MIDI track that sits above the Audio Track containing my muting Audio Region is also Soloed. If I don't have that External MIDI track soloed I can move my audio region around to my heart's content without it going grey, but if I Solo that External MIDI track and try to move my audio region it immediately goes grey and mute. I made a little video so you can see/hear what I'm talking about: https://youtu.be/73xkGDe1FX8 Logic Pro X 10.1.1 OSX 10.10.3 Mid 2011 27" iMac 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 32GB RAM
David Nahmani
When that happens, try turning Solo mode (The big S button to the right of the LCD display in your control bar) on then off. Does that solve the issue?
wjm
It doesn't happen while in Solo Mode, but as soon as I leave Solo Mode it happens again.
David Nahmani
Correct. But turning solo mode on and off solves the muted-region issue, right? What you're suffering is a bug, and what I'm offering is a workaround. If you use the Solo mode key command you can press it twice to unmute your region pretty quickly. Absolutely correct David - sorry, I didn't fully understand your question/suggestion previously. Indeed going in and out of Solo Mode does unMute the affected audio region. Good to know it's indeed a bug and not something I'm causing through bad workflow habits and a lack of Logic knowledge. Thanks for the workaround. wjm
Hmmm . . . I'm now having an issue where I can't even monitor the audio coming into an Audio Track even though the meter shows that the audio is coming in, and the second I Stop Play I can hear the tail of what was playing on that Audio Track. This is happening whether or not the previously offending MIDI Track is Soloed or not and it is not fixed by toggling in and out of Solo Mode. wjm
I have tried deleting the previously offending MIDI Track, deleting the previous Audio Track and creating a new one, Soloing and unSoloing tracks, toggling in and out of Solo Mode, routing the output of the Audio Track through a Bus, arming/disarming Record, clicking in and out of Input Monitoring . . . all to no avail. I can see that the track is receiving audio from my JX10, but can't seem to find a way to get that audio audible. And like I said before, when I Stop Play I hear the tail of the audio from that track.
wjm
I got it back, though I'm honestly not 100% sure what I did that fixed it. Some combination of selecting/deselecting the Track, arming/disarming Record, toggling in and out of Input Monitoring, Soloing and unSoloing the Track. wjm
I'm still having a lot of odd behaviour with LPX (10.1.1). A lot of stuff where a region won't transmit unless I move it out of place and back again, weird issues with certain tracks becoming mysteriously muted. Am I the only one?
