HitzHits
Dear all, this is my first post and yes, I did a search and after a couple of hours many questions been answered but I still don't seem to find a solution for my question. I have a Kick audio sample which is STEREO (for example from the Ultrabeat). I would like to Parallel compress it with an external hardware compressor (MONO). The busses are STEREO. How do I get it to MONO? - Gain plugin set to MONO will still send out 2 files (left / right). I want only ONE track in MONO. Also for some reason I can't find the STEREO / MONO button no where (the one where you can stay one and then switch from STEREO - MONO - LEFT & RIGHT). I have advanced settings but still can't find it. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, HH
David Nahmani
Also for some reason I can't find the STEREO / MONO button no where (the one where you can stay one and then switch from STEREO - MONO - LEFT & RIGHT). That's the input format of audio channel strips. It's located to the left of the Input slot, at the top of your audio channel strips. To bounce a mono file, make sure you bounce a mono signal. An easy way to do that is to click the input format of the Out 1-2 channel strip so you get two mono output channel strips, and now you can bounce one of them using the Bnc button at the bottom. HitzHits
Dear David, first of all - THANK YOU for answering and found it. While playing around I figured something out and maybe you can confirm: I have a Drum from the EXS24 sampler. Can't make it MONO; however if I create a "summing stack" I have the option to make it MONO. Would "bounce in place" and then switch to MONO work as well? I'm just trying to route the signal to a single channel so I can run it through my 1176 (MONO). Sorry for all the questions. Thanks HH
David Nahmani
I have a Drum from the EXS24 sampler. Can't make it MONO Why not? You should be able to click-hold the right side of the EXS24 insert in the Audio FX section of the channel strip, and choose "Mono"?
HitzHits
Hey David, you are on the top list of becoming my personal HERO . Ok, for the Sampler it works. I checked a couple of Logic Instruments. It doesn't work with all of them...but something useful for sure. Thank you very much, HH
David Nahmani
Ok, for the Sampler it works. I checked a couple of Logic Instruments. It doesn't work with all of them... You're welcome! And you're correct, some instruments are mono and cannot be stereo, some are stereo and cannot be mono, some can be mono or stereo, some can be surround, others can not be surround.... That's dependent on each instrument's design, and Logic can only display whatever choices the instrument's manufacturer makes available to the user.
