Help in eliminating annoying high frequency tone

I have composed a piece that involves 6 tracks using the following:

Meteor Shower

Sea of Glass

Arctic Shimmer

Event Horizon

Statosphere

Zen Garden

When I play the composition in my car (using my iPod attached through my 2014 Audi with high end speakers) I hear an extremely piercing & annoying high pitch frequency that occurs off an on throughout the piece and lasts sometimes for approx. 4 seconds and sometimes for approx. 10 seconds. This occurs only in my car and is not perceptible by me when listening through my Audio-Technica Monitor Headphones NOR when I play the composition from iTunes through my home computer and stereo. I understand from my learning/research that different listening environments cause different experiences and some things must just be dealt with. However, the tone that I hear in my car is completely unacceptable. I've tried different things like adding and or deleting "Exciter" and that just seems to move the tone around. SO I THINK MY QUESTION CAN BEST BE PHRASED -- is there a filter to apply (whether on an individual track by track basis or to the piece as a whole) that will show me where this is occurring and how to eliminate it? (Note: I know for example from listening that the tone occurs from say 1 minute 20 seconds through 1 minute 28 seconds, but I'm wondering if there's a filter or some other plugin, etc. that would show me that visually at that time the high end goes way up at that time). Again, this only occurs in my car, but is very, very evident and annoying. Thanks in advance for any insights.

Thank you Triplets very much for the quick reply. I will indeed give that a try. Any ideas as to why it only comes through in my car and not through the monitor headphones (or iPad or home stereo)? Note: it really is quite dramatic in the car and not at all noticeable in the other listening environments. Any thoughts are welcome, but thank you again for the advice above.

As Atlas said. If you cannot hear that annoying (loud?) tone anywhere else, something is off with your player, resp. the conversion to the Apple format.

To make sure, check each channel solo, from 1:20 to 1:28. If it isn't in other environments, then one of the channels playing there, must contain some frequencies that may result in this noise you describe, after bouncing and conversion.

You can also try to reimport the file you are playing back into Logic and check it with an analyzer. Channel EQ is quite fine. If you need a better resolution, check the free Voxengo SPAN.

Hello again to all and thank you specifically to "triplets" and "Atlas007" and "deft_bonz". I am very sorry for the delay in responding, but right after I posted my question, my Father had a stroke and spend several weeks in the hospital. He is now back home rehabbing, but I have not been able to return to my music endeavors since that time until now. I did however wish to thank each of you for your immediate help and let you know how much I appreciated your ideas and the time you took to share them. I will explore them and post my findings/results so hopefully all can benefit. Thanks again!

Sometime, you record a track with very high frequencies, which are immediately noticed, they are masked by other notes, in isolated sections they might be audible.. Differerent speakers have different frequency responses.. Some plug-ins might boost a normallly inaudible freq.. In any event.. use a freq analyser plug in.. Run it on master.. ..Reload the mix into logic project on two tracks and solo.. is it there?. mute those tracks and solo each track one at a time, until you find it.. I had some issue with a RMI interface unit which was putting 13K on some tracks.. Most of time is was masked by other signals, if that particular track was played alone, which it was, and faded out in song.. you briefly heard the 13 K... I didn't until I played speakers at really high volume.. For the time being, I used a low pass..

The proper thing would have been to isolate it down to exactly where it was coming from, and rectify, but I didn't want to take the time, and my solution worked.. This artifact seemed related to one particular patch.. Remember a lot of synths, and softsynths, can go extremely high, far beyond human hearing. As we age, high frequence response it lowered, so often older people can't hear what younger people might.. Your god can hear up to 50 K I believe..
